Protease

  • Culture Enzymes Minerals & Vitamins

Proteases are enzymes that break down proteins into smaller peptides or amino acids. They play important roles in digestion, immune function, and tissue remodeling. After intense exercise, muscles can become sore due to microscopic damage and inflammation. Protease supplementation involves taking proteolytic enzymes as dietary supplements to help alleviate muscle soreness and expedite the recovery process.

Protease supplementation may reduce muscle soreness through several mechanisms. First, proteases can reduce excessive inflammation by breaking down pro-inflammatory molecules. Second, they aid in the breakdown and clearance of damaged proteins, facilitating tissue repair and regeneration. Lastly, proteases improve the digestion and absorption of dietary proteins, providing necessary building blocks for muscle recovery.
